Pay as you Play Policy
Our pay as you play policy enables participants to book a trip with APD without reserving any heli time. You simply add half day, full day, lift tickets, and other activities as you go based on the weather and current snow conditions.
A 50% deposit is required to hold a reservation or $500 per group. We accept Visa, Mastercard, check, or wire transfer. For half-day and full-day trips, the remaining balance is due on the departure date. For overnight, day to day, and weekend packages the remaining balance is due at the end of your trip.

Fuel Surcharge
Due to the ever changing fuel prices, APD reserves the right to implement a fuel charge if need be. APD bases the fuel surcharge on the Los Angeles Index for Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel Price that is reported by the US Department of Energy. A Fuel Surcharge will be added for increases in the base average fuel prices (base prices are determined by averaging the last 6 months of the previous year).
Cancellation Policy
A full refund will be given for cancellations 14 days or more prior to a trip departure date. For any package reservation cancelled less than 14 days the deposit becomes non-refundable.
In the event there are no-fly days due to bad weather, high avalanche conditions, or mechanical issues with the helicopters, then we will issue you a full refund for unused flight time. Often on no-fly days, we can still access the backcountry at our local ski area. You may also choose to apply credits from no-fly days towards guided activities with our company (glacier trekking/climbing, kayaking, whale watching, etc.).
Travel Insurance
Alaska Powder Descents reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to inadequate sign-ups, weather conditions, client's not meeting physical and skill level requirements, safety concerns, and any other reason not listed above. In such a case, a full or partial refund is given, but APD is not responsible for additional expenses incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets, and non-package meals & lodging.
APD recommends purchasing traveler’s insurance, medical insurance, and researching the various elements of risk involved with helicopter skiing & snowboarding activities prior to signing the liability release forms.
